MEMPHIS, Tenn.- The men's soccer team is headed to UCA Tuesday for a non-conference match in Conway, Ark., at Bill Stephens Track/Soccer Complex.
The Tigers hold a 4-2-2 overall record and a 0-0-1 mark in American Athletic Conference play. Memphis is coming off a weekend in Orlando where they faced UCF in their conference opener that ended in a 1-1 draw in double overtime.
In the second half, Chandler Gagnon scored his first goal of the season for the UofM. Memphis earned a corner, and the ball rolled to the top of the box, where Gagnon hit a hard, low shot into the lower left corner to equalize the match. Both teams would earn a few more chances in regulation, but were unable to capitalize. In overtime, the two squads would go back and forth trading chances, but as time expired on the second extra time period, the score remain tied.
The bears are 2-5-0, 0-1-0 so far this season recording victories in their first two games of regular season play against University of the Incarnate Word and Eastern Illinois and are on a five game losing streak after falling short to Saint Mary's College of California, University of San Francisco, Missouri State University and Saint Louis University.
Memphis holds a 8-1-0 lead over Central Arkansas in the all-time series, going back to 1998 and including the past four meetings of which two have gone to OT.
