MIAMI – The University of Memphis (4-1-3, 0-0-2 American) men's soccer team continued a streak of draws with a 2-2 result at FIU (3-3-2, 0-1-1 American) Friday night in Miami.

For a third consecutive match and second straight in American Conference play, Memphis entered the second half with a lead and conceded the game-tying goal in the final minutes.

KEY MOMENTS

42' – With both sides combining for three yellow cards in the opening 40 minutes, a Memphis throw-in caromed off the head of an FIU defender, landing at the feet of Ethan Cook for the defender's first collegiate goal.
45' – Carson Banham took an aggressive challenge at midfield to put a ball through to Keanan Bader, who was taken down in the box during his run. Bader stepped up and put a shot past FIU's Nigel Van Haveren to put Memphis up by two going into the half.
- Two FIU players, Michele Ballanti and Alfonso Gilleard-Soriano, were issued yellow cards for taking Banham and Bader down during the sequence.
50' – Out of the half, a video review was initiated to confirm a foul in the box by Memphis' Kynu Samuels, giving FIU's Santi Possu a penalty attempt that cut the Tigers' lead in half.
73' – With a chance to go back up by two goals, Memphis' Eben McIntyre was stopped in front of goal by Van Haveren.
87' – For the third match in a row, Memphis conceded in the final minutes of the match to end in a draw, with Possu scoring a brace on a header.

NOTABLES

In Memphis' active three-match draw streak, the Tigers have conceded the game-tying goals in the 90^th, 84^th and 87^th minutes against Furman, Florida Atlantic and FIU, respectively.
For the first time in program history, Memphis has drawn three matches in a row.
Also, for the first time in Memphis' 45-year history, the Tigers have opened conference play with a pair of draws.
With two goals in tonight's draw, Memphis has tied its season total in goals (19) from last season with eight matches remaining in the regular season.
The pair of goals also mark Memphis' fifth-straight multi-goal match, the longest streak since a six-game stretch to end the 2012 regular season.
Memphis' seven overall multi-goal matches are the most since recording eight during the 2023 season.
Memphis is now winless in its last seven matchups with the Panthers, including a now 0-2-2 mark on the road.
Ethan Cook logged his first collegiate goal in his 54^th career game, entering the match with just over 3,900 minutes played.
Keanan Bader got on the scoresheet for the first time as a Tiger with a penalty goal in the draw.
- The goal was Bader's first since Sept. 19, 2025, when he scored against Georgia State as a member of the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Zackarya Oumamass made his first start of the season for the Tigers.
Mathias Christensen moves to 0-0-3 after posting three saves in the draw.
Ethan Cook, Junior Saint Juste, Marko Stajnko and Henrique Cruz all played a full 90 minutes in the draw.
- In net, Christensen featured for all 90 minutes for a second consecutive outing.
Seven cards were issued in the match, with four to FIU (Finn Bauens, Michele Ballanti, Alfonso Gilleard-Soriano, Pasquale Capriati) and three to Memphis (Henrique Cruz, Thomas Mancuso, Dino Stavros).
- The card issued to Cruz was his fourth of the season.
