  Memphis at Houston - Series Notes

Despite tonight’s loss, Memphis still holds a commanding 28-13 lead in the series.
The loss halted the Tigers’ four-game win streak in the series.
Prior to tonight, the last time Memphis dropped a game to Houston was in the 2010 Conference USA Tournament in Tulsa. The Cougars won that game 66-65.

Tonight’s loss to Houston was the first for Memphis against an opponent outside the RPI top-50 this season.
Despite tonight’s loss, Memphis has double-digit conference victories for a ninth-straight season (10-5 league mark). The last time the Tigers did not reach double-figure wins in conference play was 2004-05 (9-7 in C-USA).
Under head coach Josh Pastner, Memphis is 46-23 in single-digit outcome games.
Memphis drops to 5-5 in games when trailing at halftime this season (Houston led 36-33 at half).

Memphis head coach Josh Pastner grew up 20 miles from the University of Houston campus in Kingwood, Texas.
Josh Pastner now has an 8-4 record against NCAA Division I schools from the city of Houston (5-3 vs. Houston, 1-0 vs. Houston Baptist, 2-1 vs. Rice).
Memphis assistant coach Robert Kirby served as an assistant at Houston from 1993-98.
Shaq Goodwin recorded his 20^th double-figure scoring game tonight. He had only 13 double-figure scoring games all of last season.
With 16 points and 10 rebounds, Goodwin posted his fourth double-double of the season and the fifth double-double of his career.
Joe Jackson moved up the Memphis career scoring chart with his seven points vs. Houston Thursday. He remained in the No. 9 spot and now has 1,613 points. Up next for Jackson is Bill Cook, who is No. 8 with 1,629 career points from 1972-76.
Chris Crawford also moved up the Tigers career scoring list with his two points vs. Houston Thursday. He moved into a tie for the No. 30 spot with Vincent Askew (1984-87) at 1,171 career points. Up next for Crawford is Doneal Mack, who scored 1,191 career points (2006-10).
With 12 points in tonight’s contest, Austin Nichols has now scored in double-figures in three consecutive games.
Michael Dixon Jr. finished tonight’s game with a season-high 19 points.
