Doing Work With Zurc

Hello everyone! My rookie season has come to a close. As I write this I am on my way to Memphis with my dad to watch the Tigers open the season against Mississippi State. I'm looking forward to catching up with a lot of people while I am down here.
As for my season, I would say it went well. We recovered from a bad start to finish 39-29 and just out of the playoffs. I enjoyed being able to get a taste of professional baseball and cannot wait to see what the future holds. I thought I held my own in my first year. It could always be better, but that is why I am going to continue to put in a lot of work. I was invited to fall instructional (league) and will be reporting to Ft. Myers, Florida on September 17th. It is awesome to receive this invite because it means someone liked something they saw and they want to spend extra time with me.
I am looking forward to these two and a half weeks off though. It has been a long, grinding year. There are a lot of days in professional baseball when you wake up tired, but you have to push through it and realize it is your job and that you have to give your very best every day or you are not going to be around for very long. My four years at Memphis prepared me well for the life at this level. Like Drew Martinez told me last night, "We get to play a little kids game for as long as we can." That is the absolute truth too. We are playing a game for a living!
I want to thank everyone for following my blog and I hope I will be allowed to continue as I will always be a Memphis Tiger. Now it's time for everyone to go out and support Coach Porter and the Tigers as he turns the football program around. Good luck this fall to him and the rest of the team!
