Memphis Postgame Notes
* The victory was Memphis' 125th since moving into the FedExForum in 2004-05.
* Memphis won its 20th contest for the 11th year in a row, the longest streak in school history.
* The win was the Tigers' 11th in a row over UAB, and 12th in a row at home dating back to 2000.
* Early Signs: The opening tip has been important to the Tigers this season. In games where they have won the tip, Memphis is 10-0. Prior to this game, Memphis hadn't won the opening tip since Jan. 15 against Marshall.
* In his first action since a Jan. 12 loss at SMU, junior Wesley Witherspoon scored six points in 15 minutes off the bench.
* Freshman Will Barton scored in double figures for the 10th game in a row; the last time he failed to score 10 or more points was in the Jan. 12 loss at SMU. During his current hot streak, Barton is averaging 15.5 points after leading the Tigers (his 10th turn as leading scorer this season) with 17 points against UAB.
* This victory marked the first time UAB has lost this season when surrendering fewer than 65 points; the Blazers were 14-0 prior to this game when giving up less than 65.
* In two meetings with the Blazers this season, Memphis has held UAB to 15.9 percent (7-for-44) from three-point territory; the Blazers shot 5-for-21 (23.8 percent) in this contest after going 2-for-23 (8.7 percent) on Jan. 22. UAB's Jamarr Sanders, who was 0-for-10 from three last time out, was 2-for-7 from beyond the arc this time around.
* With the win, coach Josh Pastner has reached 20 victories in both seasons at Memphis, joining three other coaches (Wayne Yates, Larry Finch, John Calipari) who have achieved 20 or more wins in their first two seasons at the helm.
* When the opponent shoots below 45 percent, the Tigers are now 16-1 this season.
* Freshman Joe Jackson, who was held scoreless in two of his past three contests, broke into double figures for the first time since Feb. 2 against Tulsa with 12 points.
* Memphis hoisted just 45 shots in this contest, fewest in a game this season.
* The Tigers grabbed a season-low 29 rebounds.
* Junior Charles Carmouche scored 10 points, the 25th double-figure scoring game of his career.
