Former University of Memphis football letterman Bob Ford has been selected as a 2012 inductee into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame. Ford becomes just the second Memphis Tiger football player to be voted into the prestigious Hall.
Playing under former Memphis head coach Ralph Hatley, Ford lettered as a center and end from 1951-54. He helped his Tiger teams to a four year record of 16-18-3, including a victory over #19 ranked Southern Mississippi in 1953.
Following graduation from then Memphis State College, Ford became a coach in the Southeastern Conference and later attended law school at the University of Arkansas. While working his way through law school Ford worked as football coach for Coach Frank Broyles, serving as a freshman coach and a college scout for the Razorbacks.
The Wynne, Ark., native was inducted into the University of Memphis M Club Hall of Fame in 1983. The Arkansas Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on February 3, 2012, at Altel Arena in Little Rock.
