Memphis Postgame Notes
* Memphis improved to 8-0 all-time against Tennessee State in the first meeting since 1989-90 campaign.
* The U of M improves its winning percentage to 81 percent (73-17) in the month of January since the 1999-2000 campaign.
* Head Coach Josh Pastner recorded his 35th victory in his short tenure at Memphis. With Sunday's win, Pastner ties Larry Finch for the second-quickest head coach to reach the 35-win plateau in the program's history.
* The U of M posted a season-high 21 fastbreak points in Sunday's game. The previous high was 18 in the season-opener against Centenary. Memphis posted 54 bench points in Sunday's contest, the third-highest bench production this season. Memphis' bench contributed 63 points against Centenary and 60 points against UT Martin.
* Memphis scored the second-highest total points in the second half of a game with 48 in Sunday's game. The U of M had 52 points in the second half against Centenary.
* Memphis out-rebounded its opponent for the fourth-straight game, carrying a 33-28 edge on the glass against Tennessee State. The U of M has now out-rebounded the opponent in seven of 13 games.
* Tennessee State's eight point lead at the 16:50 mark of the first half was the second-largest deficit Memphis had faced in the first half. Kansas led Memphis by nine in the first half on Dec. 7.
* Tennessee State drained 12 three pointers, the most that the U of M has allowed this season and most in any game since Cincinnati had 14 three's on December 3, 2005. The previous season-high was eight three-pointers by Austin Peay, UT Martin and Northwestern State.
* Memphis has shot 50 percent or better in four-straight halves, shooting 50 percent in the first half and 57.1 percent in the second half against Lipscomb. The U of M shot 56.3 percent in the first half of today's game and 50 percent in the second half.
* Memphis had two players score 20 or more points for the fourth time this season. Antonio Barton had a career-high 24 points and Tarik Black posted a career-high 22 points. It is the ninth and 10th time this season a Memphis player has scored 20 or more points.
* Chris Crawford drained a three-pointer for the eighth-straight game and now has a triple in 12 of 13 games. Crawford posted a career high six rebounds. It was his fourth out of five games with four or more assists, and he finished with a career-high nine assists on the game.
* Joe Jackson had eight assists in the last two game,s and it's the fourth time this season he has had six or more assists. Jackson had two or more steals for the fifth time this season.
* Will Barton scored 19 points marking the third-straight game he has scored in double figures and the seventh time this season.
* Tarik Black posted 15 points in the first half en route to a career-high 22 points. His previous high was 11 points against Western Kentucky, and it's his third career game with double-digit scoring.
* D.J. Stephens scored eight points marking the fourth out of the last five games he has played in with six or more points. Stephens recorded two blocks for the third time this season.
* Antonio Barton drained a career-high five three-pointers marking his second-straight game with three or more triples and the fourth time this season. He finished with a career-high 24 points marking the second-straight game in double figures and fifth time this season. He led Memphis in scoring for the first time since the season opener against Centenary in which he had 17 points.
* Memphis registered a season low four steals. The U of M, the Conference USA leader in steals, had averaged 10.6 steals per game. The previous season low was seven against Lipscomb and LSU.
* The U of M drained six or more three-pointers for the 10th time in 13 games this season.
