Memphis Postgame Notes
* Memphis defeated a Nashville-based school for the fourth time in a row, and are now 18-9 all-time against the four Division I schools that call Nashville home (Belmont, Lipscomb, Tennessee State, Vanderbilt).
* Junior Wesley Witherspoon (10 points) and freshman Will Barton (seven points) scored the first 17 points for Memphis against the Bisons.
* Freshman Joe Jackson netted a career-high eight assists.
* The Tigers nailed eight first-half three-pointers, the most made three's in a half by the U of M this season.
* Wesley Witherspoon broke out in a big way after being limited due to injury over the past few weeks. He finished with 28 points, his first 20-point contest since he put 20 on LSU, Nov. 21, and his first double-double since his 24-point, 12-rebound night against Northwestern State, Nov. 17. It was also the 30th double-figure scoring game of his career. The 14 rebounds he pulled down was also a career-high.
* Freshman Antonio Barton knocked down a career-high-tying three three-pointers en route to 12 points, his first double-digit scoring game since he had 10 points, Dec. 1, against Arkansas State. Barton is now shooting 50 percent (11-for-22) from beyond the arc this season.
* Led by Witherspoon's career-high tying four three-pointers, Memphis hit 11 three-point baskets as a team, the first time Memphis has hit double-digit three-pointers since the season-opener against Centenary, when the Tigers nailed 14 three-pointers.
* With 15 points, Will Barton earned his sixth double-digit scoring game of the season.
* The Tigers surrendered just nine rebounds to Lipscomb in the first half, the lowest number of boards any team has in one half against Memphis this season.
* Memphis won the rebounding battle by 19 (42-23), their highest difference on the glass this season. The 23 rebounds allowed was a season-low.
* Memphis had its second-highest numbers of the season in field goals made (34), field goal percentage (54.0), three-pointers made (10) and three-point percentage (50.0).
