* This game moves Memphis to 16-4 all-time against Austin Peay with the Tigers having taken five in a row from the Governors. This was the first overtime battle between the two since the Governors beat Memphis on Nov. 22, 2002, 81-80. It marked the Tigers first win in three overtime meetings with Austin Peay.
* First half woes: Memphis scored a season-low 24 first-half points, but Austin Peay scored just 19 points, the fewest Memphis has allowed in a half this season.
* Memphis held the Governors to 17.9 percent (7-for-39) from the field in the first half, the worst shooting performance by a visitor this season.
* Ball Control: The Tigers committed 14 first-half turnovers, a season-high in one half. For the game, Memphis turned the ball over a season-high 24 times,
* Block Party: Senior Will Coleman, making his first start since Northwestern St. on Nov. 17, had a season-high four blocks.
* Freshman Joe Jackson had a career-high six rebounds to go along with a career-high three steals, the eighth time in nine games that a Tiger has had three or more steals in a contest.
* Freshman Hippolyte Tsafack, whose redshirt was taken off Sunday, had three points in 10 minutes of action in his first collegiate contest.
* From the 2:46 mark in the first half until 16:46 in the second, Austin Peay went on an 18-0 run to turn a 24-17 deficit into a 35-24 lead. Memphis junior Charles Carmouche ended that run with Memphis' second four-point play of the season.
* Austin Peay's three active leading scorers (Josh Terry, John Fraley and Tyswan Edmondson) were a combined 3-for-21 in the first half.
* Charles Carmouche scored or assisted on the Tigers first 20 points of the second half to spark a comeback from a 43-28 deficit, the Tigers largest of the season, at 13:35 in the second half to a 47-47 tie at the eight-minute media timeout. It's the largest deficit the Tigers have overcome to pull out a win this season.
* The Tigers struggled at the line against the Governors, shooting a season-low 50 percent (15-for-30) from the charity stripe.
* Charles Carmouche ended the night as the Tigers leading scorer rebounder with a season-best seven boards, and led in assists with seven. The junior transfer from New Orleans also tied a career-high with three made three-pointers on his way to a season-high 16 points.
