MEMPHIS, TENN. - The honors continue to roll in for senior punter Matt Reagan who continues to ranks third nationally in punting average. CollegeFootballNews.com has tabbed Reagan as a third-team All-American this week.
Earlier in the week, Reagan became Memphis' first Associated Press All-American since DeAngelo Williams in 2005 when the national organization selected him as a third teamer. Reagan was named as a second-team honoree on the All-Conference USA team and also earned recognition as a C-USA All-Academic pick.
Reagan handled kicking duties for four seasons, and added punting to his resume this year. In his first season as the Tigers' punter, Reagan was named one of 10 semifinalists for the Ray Guy Award, which is presented to the nation's top punter. He is second in C-USA and ranks third nationally in punting average with a mark of 45.5 yards per punt. Reagan handled all but one punt this season and totaled 19 kicks over 50 yards and dropped 26 inside the opponent's 20-yard line. He was also 31-of-33 on PATs and was second on the team with 64 points.
CollegeFootballNews.com also announced its national Freshman and Sophomore All-American teams last week. Freshman defensive lineman Dontari Poe earned Honorable Mention accolades.
