Team Notes
- Memphis captains today were seniors Greg Jackson, Duke Calhoun and Matt Reagan.
- After the first quarter, both teams were held scoreless. It was the second time this season that the Tigers had shut out a team in the first quarter, with the other game being versus UT Martin, which was also 0-0 heading into the second quarter.
- Despite missing a 30-yard field goal, Memphis took a 7-3 lead into the locker room at the half, marking just the second time this season that Memphis has led at the half. The last time was against UT Martin when Memphis was up 24-0.
Offensive Notes
- Duke Calhoun caught an 18-yard pass from Tyler Bass in the first quarter to extend his career receiving streak to 42 games, which ranks third nationally coming into today's game.
- Senior running back Curtis Steele saw game action after missing the UT Martin and Marshall games with a bone bruise he suffered against Middle Tennessee. Steele rushed for 22 yards on eight carries today.
- Junior receiver Stevie Matthews lined up at receiver today for his first action with the offense. His first career game was against UT Martin, during which he was part of the special teams unit.
- Duke Calhoun hauled in a 61-yard offering from Tyler Bass for a touchdown, marking the duos' third straight game with a touchdown of 60 or more yards. Against UT Martin, Calhoun scored off an 85 yarder, and against Marshall the two paired up for an 80-yard score.
- With his 61-yard TD catch, Duke Calhoun now is tied for third all-time at Memphis in TD receptions with 17. He is tied with Earnest Gray (1975-78). He needs two TDs to tie Tavares Gideon, who totaled 19 from 2002-2004.
- With his first catch of the game in the third quarter, Carlos Singleton advanced one spot in the career receptions category and is now tied with Darron White, who tallied 137 receptions from 2001-04.
- Will Hudgens came in the game with about four minutes remaining in the third quarter. It was Hudgens' first time in at QB since the season opener against Ole Miss. Hudgens finished 6-for-15 for 143 yards, one touchdown and an interception.
- Deven Onarheim caught a 23-yard pass from Will Hudgens in the third quarter for a career high reception for the junior tight end.
- Tight end DajLeon Farr hauled in a 12-yard touchdown pass from Will Hudgens with just over two minutes remaining in the third quarter. It was Farr's first TD at Memphis, and his fourth career TD reception (3 at Miami as a junior). The touchdown pass was Hudgens' 12th career, and his first since Sept. 13, 2008 against Marshall.
- Duke Calhoun logged 162 yards and one touchdown on four catches for his third straight game of 100-plus yards receiving. He has a school record 10 career games over 100 yards receiving and this is the second time he has logged three straight in his career. He also had three versus ECU, USM and UAB in 2007. Calhoun continues to hold school records in receptions with 171 and in yards with 2,615.
- The 162 yards receiving by Duke Calhoun in the game ranks as the sixth highest total in Memphis history. Calhoun earlier this season against UT Martin tied for the second most single game receiving yards in school history with a career high 174 yards.

- Greg Jackson tackled Billy Giovanetti after a reception, and forced a fumble in the fourth quarter. - Greg Jackson led the team in tackles and tied a career high with 13, including 11 solo stops.
