• Today's captains for Memphis were seniors Brent Sutherland, Charlie Jones and Freddie Barnett.
• Junior D.A. Griffin got his first start in tonight's game. He started at cornerback ahead of senior Michael Grandberry. Junior Josh Weaver made his first start tonight at linebacker for Greg Jackson. Weaver has started 13 games in the defensive line for the Tigers, but this was his first start at linebacker. Griffin finished the game with a team-leading nine tackles, including 1.5 stops for a loss of three yards.
• Duke Calhoun extended his receiving streak to 27 games with his first reception of 22 yards early in the first quarter. Calhoun ties Russell Copeland (1989-92) for the school record of 27 consecutive games with a catch. Calhoun has now caught a pass in each of his 27 games in a Tiger uniform. He missed the UCF contest last season with a knee injury.
• Carlos Singleton registered a 30-yard reception in the first quarter to extend his receiving streak to 24 games. He is now tied for fourth all-time at Memphis with Darron White who also logged catches in 24 consecutive games.
• Steven Black also holds a double-digit receiving streak for the Tigers, and with his four receptions for 26 yards, he now boasts a 14-game streak.
• Quarterback Arkelon Hall fumbled the ball off a six-yard run in the first quarter and Memphis lost the ball at the Marshall 8-yard line. It was the first time that the Tigers had turned the ball over on a fumble in eight games. The last fumble lost for the Tigers was last season against Tulane on October 27. The Tigers tied for third nationally in fumbles lost with just three last year.
• With his five receptions for 72 yards in tonight's contest, junior receiver Duke Calhoun jumped from sixth to a tie for third all-time at Memphis in career receptions. He surpassed Isaac Bruce (5th, 113 catches) and Ryan Scott (4th, 114 catches). He is now tied with Russell Copeland with 116 career receptions
• Despite a high snap, junior kicker Matt Reagan hit a career-high 44-yard field goal with just over five minutes remaining in the second quarter. Reagan's previous best was 42 yards during his freshman season ('06) against UTEP. Reagan is now 4-of-10 from 40-plus yards. Reagan hit a 22 yarder in the third quarter for his 10th career game of multiple field goals made. It is the first game this season that he has booted multiple field goals.
• Carlos Singleton recorded a career high with his 11 receptions for 158 yards. His previous best was eight receptions, which he did twice last season versus Ole Miss and SMU. The 158 yards receiving marked his third career 100-yard game, his other two were last season. He totaled 127 yards versus SMU and 100 versus East Carolina.
• Singletons 11 receptions in the game ranks third all-time at Memphis. Maurice Avery holds the record with 13 against UAB in 2003 and Steven Black had 12 in 2007. The 158 yards ranks eighth all-time in a single game at Memphis. Singleton moves up one spot to 10th on the Memphis all-time leading receivers list with 1,358 career yards.
• Earnest Williams logged his fifth straight game with a receiving touchdown when he hauled in the four-yard touchdown pass from Will Hudgens to give Memphis its first lead of the game (13-10) with just over five minutes remaining in the third quarter. The touchdown pass was the third of the year and the 11th of his career for Hudgens. This is the second time this year that the pair has matched up for a score.
• Arkelon Hall connected with Maurice Jones on a 53-yard pass in the fourth quarter, marking his first career pass over 50 yards. The 53-yard reception was a season high for Jones and marked his ninth career reception over 40 yards. Jones jumps to a tie for 14th on the all-time receiving yards list at Memphis with 1,183 career yards. He also moves up one spot into a tie for 17th on the all-time receptions list with 78 career catches, tying him with Ryan Roskelly.
• Matt Reagan hit a 25-yard field goal with 8:14 remaining in the game to mark the third time in his career that he has connected on three or more field goals.
• Arkelon Hall's 364 yards on 28-of-51 passing marks the second-straight game he has gone over the 300-yard passing mark. The 51 attempts ties for fifth in a single-game at Memphis, tying Danny Wimprine against USF in 2003.
• The last time Memphis began the season 0-3 came in 1998 when the team went 0-5 to start the year.
