Anderson, Dozier Put Names In NBA Draft

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - University of Memphis juniors Antonio Anderson and Robert Dozier became official entrants in the 2008 NBA Draft Wednesday. Both submitted paperwork to the league offices late Tuesday evening. The following is a statement from Memphis head coach John Calipari, along with Anderson and Dozier highlights from the 2007-08 campaign:

"Both Antonio and Robert approached me about putting their names in the NBA Draft, and I support them in their decision. This is good for them because they can work out for teams and see where they stand and find out about their strengths and weaknesses.
"As with Derrick and Chris, I am happy for Antonio and Robert that they are pursuing a dream they've had since they were kids. They have worked hard to reach this point, and I want to offer support any way I can."
ANDERSON 2007-08 HIGHLIGHTS
• Team's fourth-leading scorer at 8.6 ppg
• Tied for team lead with 49 steals and second on squad with 136 assists
• Led team in minutes played with 1180 (29.5 mpg)
• C-USA Tournament MVP
• Named to C-USA All-Defensive Team
• Has 114 assists and 29 turnovers in last 32 games (3.9:1 assist-turnover ratio)
• Is No. 9 on the Memphis career assists list with 368 dimes
• Had 5.6:1 assist-to-turnover ratio in postseason play (28 assists/5 TO/265 minutes)
• Scored nine points and added five boards and four steals vs. Kansas in NCAA title game
• Posted 10 points, five boards and four assists (no turnovers) vs. Michigan St. in South Region semis
• Scored 17 points (NCAA high) and added six boards and five assists vs. UT-Arlington in NCAA Tournament
• Averaged 11.3 points in C-USA Tournament
• Had a 10:1 assist-to-turnover ratio in C-USA Tournament
• Had no turnovers in last two C-USA Tourney games (56 minutes)
• In C-USA Tournament final, scored 19 points on 7-of-9 FG, 4-of-5 treys and 1-of-1 FT
• Grabbed a season-high 10 boards vs. SMU; added nine points and five assists
• Played Southern Miss game with upper chest muscle strain; hit key second-half trey to give Memphis a 58-54 lead
• Scored a season-best 27 points vs. UAB; also had season highs for FG (9), treys (4) and FT (5)
• Hit a key trey at the 1:23 mark of second half to start the 9-1 game-ending run for the Tigers vs. UAB
• Netted 12 points and grabbed four rebounds vs. Houston
• Scored 12 points and added four boards vs. Gonzaga; had first TO since Jan. 5 against the Bulldogs
• Had 12 points, six assists and three boards vs. Pepperdine
• Posted seven points, four boards, five assists, two steals and only one turnover in 33 minutes vs. Georgetown
• Hit a lay-up off a Derrick Rose assist to extend the Tigers' lead to 69-56 with 6:02 left
• Followed Middle Tennessee game with a 12-point, three-board performance vs. Cincinnati
• Hit key trey vs. the Bearcats with 1:04 left in the game; gave Memphis a 76-67 lead
• Had solid floor game performance vs. Middle Tennessee with nine points, six boards, six assists and only two turnovers

• Shot 44 percent from the field and 67.5 percent from the foul line
• Had five double-double performances
• Posted a double-double of 11 points and 10 boards vs. Kansas in NCAA title game
• Grabbed seven rebounds vs. Texas in NCAA South Region title game
• Had nine points and 10 rebounds vs. Mich. State in NCAA South Region semis
• Scored six of his nine points vs. Miss. State in a 3-minute span in second half to keep Memphis in the lead
• Had 12 points (NCAA high), five boards and two blocks vs. UT-Arlington
• Team's leading rebounder in C-USA Tournament with a 7.3 average
• Grabbed 11 rebounds vs. Southern Miss in C-USA Tournament semifinal
• Had 14 points and nine boards vs. Tulane in the C-USA Tournament quarterfinal
