Lady Tigers Soccer Nabs Jordan Boyle

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Jordan Boyle from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada joins the 2008 women's soccer recruiting class. Boyle signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) to sign with the lady tigers, joining current teammate Julia Ignacio on the list of signees.
She plays club for the Northwest United Major League and Internazional U18-T1. Her team finished third in the league, while placing second in the provincials. Boyle recorded three shutouts during this time. She has one goal (which she scored from the net) and six assists in that season, with a penalty shot record of 8-2.
Boyle is a current member of the U20 Canadian National Pool and a former Goalkeeper for Team Alberta, in which she played on the U15 and U16 teams.
Boyle plays goalkeeper for Coach Ross Ongaro at Arch Bishop O'Leary. They won the provincial championship in 2007. She also is a member of her high school's track and field team, where she throws the javelin and discus.
Boyle is the daughter of Shaunalee Boyle. She has a younger brother Sawyer.
"Jordan is going to make us a better team the minute she steps on campus. Not only is she going to give us the depth that is crucial in the goalkeeping position, but she has the ability to come in and play immediately," said Head Coach Brooks Monaghan. "Her work rate is absolutely second to none. She's a person that has set very high goals for herself. Being able to work with Sebastian (Vecchio), day in and day out, is going to automatically make her better. She has all the tools that you look for in a goalkeeper. She's an extraordinary shot stopper and we really feel that with some fine tuning from Sebastian that she will develop into something special."
