GAME NOTES Tennessee State (1-3) vs. Memphis (1-3)
• Memphis opened the contest with the first 2 buckets, then fell behind, 7-6, and would not regain the lead until the 8:54 mark in the first half. The Lady Tigers found themselves in an 8-point hole, trailing 18-10 with 12:47 left in the half. They responded with a 14-4 run to regain the lead, 24-22, with 8:54 remaining.
• Memphis opened an 8-point lead of its own, 37-29, following a pair of Shae Seagraves free throws. TSU whittled that lead down to 5 before the break, heading to the locker room trailing Memphis by 5, 43-39.
• The teams totaled 31 turnovers in the first half. (Memphis 14, TSU 17)
• Ashley Thornton led Memphis with 17 first-half points and 4 rebounds, she finished with 22 points, which tied a career high, and 10 rebounds, which is her sixth career double-double.
• Memphis opened another 8-point lead at the start of the second half, leading 51-43. TSU then went on an 18-1 run to build a 9-point lead, their largest of the game.
