• Memphis captains for today's game were seniors Abraham Holloway, Martin Hankins (Hattiesburg, Miss.) and Joey Mack.
• Fullback Greg Hinds and linebacker Jeremy Rockette got their first starts of the season in today's game.
• Duke Calhoun extended his receiving streak to 21 games with his reception for 13 yards in the first quarter. Calhoun finished the day with eight catches for 124 yards and has registered multiple receptions in 18 of his 21 career games.
• Calhoun caught a 65-yard touchdown pass from Martin Hankins for Memphis' first score of the game to mark his fifth TD catch of the season. The 65-yard catch was also a career-high for the sophomore from Memphis, Tenn., and was a season-high for Hankins.
• Carlos Singleton caught a 13-yard pass from Martin Hankins in the second quarter to extend his receiving streak to 18 games. He caught his sixth touchdown pass of the season on a 10-yard play from Martin Hankins which tied the score at 14 with under a minute remaining in the second quarter. Singleton, who later added a second touchdown in the fourth quarter, has scored in the last three straight games and leads the Tigers in scoring by a non-kicker with 48 points.
• For the fourth straight game, the Tigers have had a 100-yard receiver as Duke Calhoun totaled 124 yards. It is Calhoun's sixth career 100-yard game which ties for the school record. He is tied with Earnest Gray who went over the century mark six times from 1975-78.
• Martin Hankins passed for 396 yards in today's game and totals 2,305 yards on the year to mark the seventh time in school history that a Memphis signal caller has passed for over 2,000 yards in a single season. Hankins passed for 2,550 yards last season.
• Martin Hankins, who came four yards from reach 400 yards for the second straight game, has passed for 812 yards in the last two games. He also threw four touchdown passes for the second-straight game. His 18 touchdowns on the season matches his mark from last year.
• Martin Hankins has thrown for over 300 yards in five of his eight starts this season. He now has seven career 300 yard games.
• The four touchdowns passing in today's game gives the Tigers 25 for the year and ranks in a tie for first in the Tiger single-season record book. Memphis also had 25 TDs in 2004.
• Michael Grandberry registered his sixth career 100-yard kickoff return game with a school record 168 yards on six returns in today's game. Grandberry holds the school record for career return yards (1,491) and returns (64).
• Joseph Doss totaled 26 receiving yards which is a season high for the senior tailback. He also totaled 13 yards rushing today to bring his career total to 2,005 yards and is only the sixth Tiger in school history to amass 2,000 yards rushing in a career.
• Duke Calhoun jumped from 12th to ninth in career receiving yards as he totals 1,307 yards in 21 games. He also ranks 11th in career receptions with 90.
• Earnest Williams caught his third touchdown of the season with a 12-yard reception in the fourth quarter. It is his sixth career receiving touchdown.
• Carlos Singleton scored his second touchdown of the game with a little more than a minute left in the fourth quarter on a 52-yard reception. It is the second-straight game he has had two touchdowns and he has scored five touchdowns in the last three games. Singleton totaled five catches for 96 yards in the game.
• Maurice Jones caught a two-point conversion in the fourth quarter to give Memphis a three-point lead with 1:04 left in the game. It is his first two-point conversion and the Tigers fifth passing conversion in six attempts.
• The Memphis win is its second straight in Hattiesburg. The Tigers won 24-22 in 2005. Before those two wins, Southern Miss was 18-2 against Memphis in Hattiesburg.
