• Captains for Memphis were seniors Martin Hankins and Jake Kasser.
• Junior Freddie Barnett started for the first time this season on the defensive line.
• Brent Sutherland's first punt of the game was a 61 yarder and a career high for the junior.
• Junior tight end Brett Russell caught his first touchdown pass of the season to give Memphis the 7-0 advantage with six minutes remaining in the first quarter. He caught the 10-yard pass from Martin Hankins, which also marked Hankins' 24th touchdown pass of his career.
• Joseph Doss busted off a 29-yard run in the second quarter which was a season high for the senior. Doss scored his third rushing touchdown of the season; the 12th of his career, off a 15-yard run with seven minutes remaining in the third quarter. He is now also tied for second on the team in scoring with Matt Malouf and Greg Hinds who all total 18 points.
• Junior LeRico Mathis picked off Chase Clement in the second quarter for his second interception of the season. Mathis' first pick of the season was in the win over Marshall on Oct. 2.
• With Mathis' interception, the Tigers have now forced its opponent into at least one turnover in the last nine straight games. The last team to not yield a turnover to the Tigers was UCF in 2006.
• Sophomore kicker Matt Reagan converted his fifth field goal of the season when he booted a 22 yarder with 11:17 remaining in the second quarter. Reagan registered a 24-yard field goal with just over eight seconds remaining in the first half and then converted his third of the game on a 22 yarder in the fourth quarter. Reagan is 4-of-5 on FGs of 20-29 yards this season.
• Matt Reagan scored a career high 12 points in the game on three field goals and three PATs.
• Miguel Barnes logged a 16-yard run in the second quarter that tied his career high and is a season high this year. His 47 yards rushing in the game is also a career high.
• Greg Hinds caught his third touchdown pass of the season off a six-yard toss from Martin Hankins with 6:29 left in the second quarter. Hinds' first three receptions this season have been for touchdowns.
• Martin Hankins snapped a four-game streak of zero interceptions when he was picked off at the Rice 45-yard line in the third quarter.
• Joseph Doss rushed for a career high 175 yards off 24 carries in today's meeting for his fourth 100-yard rushing game of his career. It is his first since the Houston game last season when he had a then career high 133 yards on 28 carries. Doss moved up to No. 8 all-time in the Tiger record book for career yards with 1,902 yards.
• Sophomore Duke Calhoun finished the day with four receptions for 119 yards and extended his receiving streak to 18 games. He has caught multiple passes in 15 of 18 career games. Calhoun logged a 40-yard reception late in the third quarter for a season high. He has led the Tigers in receiving yards in the last three straight games.
• Duke Calhoun had his fourth 100-yard receiving game of his career and first of the season. He is the first 100-yard receiver for Memphis this year.
• Carlos Singleton also upped his receiving streak to 15 games with three receptions for 21 yards today. He also was on the receiving end of his second two-point conversion this season.
• Earnest Williams caught his first pass of the day at the start of the fourth quarter and extended his receiving streak to 12 games.
• Sophomore Steven Turner caught his first career interception in the fourth quarter on a ball he tipped off a pass by Rice's Chase Clement.
• Martin Hankins threw his third touchdown of the game in the fourth quarter on a 45-yard pass to Maurice Jones. It is the fifth time Hankins has thrown three touchdowns in a game and second time this season with the other being Jacksonville State.
• The touchdown reception by Maurice Jones is his second of the season and fourth of his career.
• Junior Steven Black had a career high six receptions for 61 yards.
• With the two interceptions by the Tigers in the game, Memphis has forced at least two turnovers in every game this season.
• Memphis is now 3-1 this season when scoring the first points in the game.
• This game marks the first time since 2005 that Memphis has had a 100-yard rusher (Doss) and a 100-yard receiver (Calhoun). The last time the Tigers did it was against Akron in the Motor City Bowl when DeAngelo Williams had 238 yard rushing and Ryan Scott had 103 yard receiving.
• The 571 yards of offense for Memphis is the most since 2005 against Akron in the Motor City Bowl when the Tigers put up 516 yards.
