Feb 26, 2026 | Football
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis Athletics announced its 2026 football schedule Thursday, a 12-game slate featuring six home contests at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium, multiple weeknight opportunities and high-profile nonconference bouts against both participants from the 2025 Mountain West Championship Game.
Season tickets start at just $99 – a $50 reduction from last season – delivering Tiger fans one of the best values in college football. Fans can purchase new season tickets by clicking HERE, while current season ticket holders can renew HERE.
Memphis opens the 2026 campaign in "Week Zero" on Saturday, Aug. 29, traveling to Las Vegas to take on UNLV in what will mark the first-ever meeting between the programs. It will also be the first time the Tigers participate in a Week Zero contest.
The Tigers' home opener is set for Sept. 5 against Arkansas State in the 63rd all-time meeting of a series that dates back to 1914.
The home schedule also features UT Martin (Sept. 19), UAB (Oct. 10), East Carolina (Oct. 22), Army (Oct. 31) and Temple (Nov. 27 or 28).
Memphis and UT Martin meet for the first time since 2013. The Skyhawks are coached by Jason Simpson, a four-time finalist for the Eddie Robinson FCS Coach of the Year Award and the father of former Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson.
The "Battle for the Bones" returns to Memphis on Oct. 10 when UAB visits Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium. The Tigers have won three of the last four meetings with the Blazers.
Army makes its first trip to Memphis since 2002 on Oct. 31. The Black Knights' only win in the series came in 1985.
Memphis will play six road games in 2026, also traveling to Boise State (Sept. 12), Charlotte (Oct. 3), Tulane (Oct. 16), South Florida (Nov. 12) and Navy (Nov. 21). The matchup at Boise State will mark just the second meeting between the programs, with Memphis earning a 35-32 victory at home in 2024.
The schedule includes three confirmed weeknight contests: a Friday night showdown at Tulane (Oct. 16) and Thursday matchups against East Carolina (Oct. 22) and at South Florida (Nov. 12).
Memphis has two open dates (Sept. 26 and Nov. 7) before championship weekend, with the American Conference Championship Game slated for Saturday, Dec. 5.
Eight of Memphis' 11 FBS opponents earned bowl berths in 2025, highlighting another demanding path for the Tigers.
Kickoff times and television designations will be announced at a later date.
