Tigers Headed to Detroit for Motor City Bowl

MEMPHIS, TENN. - After a third consecutive winning season, Tommy West and the University of Memphis Tigers have been invited to their third straight collegiate bowl game, the Motor City Bowl on December 26th in Detroit, Michigan. The Tigers will be paired against the University of Akron, the 2005 Mid-America Conference champion. The University was notified of their bowl destination on Sunday afternoon following the official announcement of the BCS selections.
The Tiger Ticket Office will begin taking ticket orders on Tuesday, December 6th at 9:00am. At that time information will also be available regarding hotel accommodations. The University will not sponsor a charter flight for fans to the Motor City Bowl due to scheduling difficulties and prohibitive cost.
While ticket orders will be collected beginning Tuesday, seating locations will not be assigned until a later date. Bowl ticket seating locations will be assigned based on the following priorities:
1. Tiger Scholarship Fund donors
2. Football season ticket holders who are not donors
3. General public
