Post Game Quotes
UM Coach Tommy West "I am glad we got win number two. We have to get more consistent. That is pretty obvious even though we scored some points. We could not get in a good rhythum especially in the first half. I thought we would come out sharper. We have some work to do right now and we have to look at this film hard and see what is going on and get that solved and we will.
Offensively DeAngelo Williams really made his plays in the first half. Danny (Wimprine) has to be more consistent. We played alot better in the second half. I wanted to score on the first drive in the second half but we did not but we played pretty good from there. I did not want anyone to get hurt in a game like this.
I was glad Bobby Robison got some time in the fourth quarter. Chattanooga quarterback (Cedric Stevens) was really good. Our defense was really good when it mattered and we made some plays.
Danny has struggled a little bit. It is nothing to make a big deal about. He made some good throws but struggled early. He struggled a little bit early in Oxford also. Danny is fine and will come around.
UTC Coach Rodney Allison (On DeAngelo Williams) "I was in the SEC for six years. He's good. He could play in it that league."
(On the Tigers) "They're well coached. They play hard and played with class. I have a lot of respect for their program. They're exactly what I thought they'd be. They're going to be hard to beat in their conference."
"We'll take some positives out of it with a bunch of negatives. We'll find some positives. The kids are o.k. They knew this was a hard game to win. I told them it would be a hard game to win. We had too many mistakes in the kicking game. We had two funbles. It may have been 52-21, but we gave them a few things too. But they're better than we are."
(on Cedric Stevens) "This is his first game here, and I thought he handled things pretty good. I think he'll be even better as we go into our conference schedule and play teams who are equal to us."
Game Notes: * Stephen Gostkowski's missed 39-yard field goal on the first drive of the game was his first miss since he missed a 41 yarder in the New Orleans Bowl against North Texas. The 26-yard field goal that he hit late in the first quarter marked his 31st career make.

Williams tied former Tiger tailback Dante Brown who scored four touchdowns vs. Houston in 2001.
* Late in the third quarter freshman tailback JaMarcus Gaither entered the game along with senior QB Bobby Robison. On their first play from scrimmage, Robison connected with Gaither for 37 yards and a touchdown. The play marked Gaither's first career score as a Tiger, and Robison's first career touchdown pass.
