Women's Tennis Falls to DePaul, 5-2

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The University of Memphis women's tennis team (9-10, 2-1 C-USA) suffered its first conference loss of the season, 5-2, to DePaul University, at UAB, Friday.
Memphis came out strong and claimed the doubles point with an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles, followed by a 9-7 victory at No. 3 doubles.
But the Blue Demons came roaring back, winning all but the No. 5 singles match to complete the victory. Kristin Noble claimed the only singles victory for Memphis, downing senior Karen Falduto, 6-2, 6-1.
Memphis will remain in Birmingham and will face Cincinnati, Saturday, at 2 p.m. The Lady Tigers will then cap the road trip against host UAB at 2 p.m., Sunday.
Memphis will wrap up its 2004 spring season at home April 12th against Arkansas State.
