Men's Basketball Shoots The Lights Out Against Christian Brothers

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Marcus Moody came off the bench to score a game-high 22 points and three others scored in double figures Monday night as the University of Memphis defeated Christian Brothers 98-54.
Joining Moody were Scooter McFadgon with 15, Shannon Forman with 14 and Shyrone Chatman with 12. Christian Brothers was led by Rodney Chapman with 17 points and Adam Heitzman with 12.
Christian Brothers (5-4), a Division II program located about three miles from the Memphis campus, struggled from the outset against the stronger, quicker Tigers and shot 31.3 percent and had 24 turnovers.
Memphis (4-6) shot 48.6 percent from the field and outrebounded Christian Brothers 52-34.
As a result, it didn't take them long to put the game out of reach. Five minutes into the first half, Memphis led 16-0. During that span, Christian Brothers was 0-for-6 with five turnovers.
The Memphis lead increased to 25-4 with 12:26 left in the opening half, and the Tigers led 59-27 at halftime. Christian Brothers had 18 of its 24 turnovers in the first half.
Christian Brothers never got closer than 32 points in the second half.
It was the second straight win for Memphis, which has lost to four top 25 teams this season.
