AJ Osburn

A.J. Osburn was promoted to Director of Compliance at the University of Memphis in February 2022 after serving as the Senior Coordinator of Athletic Compliance for three-and-a-half years. Osburn currently works with the baseball, football, cross country, track & field, soccer, men's golf, women’s tennis, and volleyball programs. He oversees roster management, officialand& unofficial visits, time management, letters of intent and athletic aid agreements, and acts as a liaison for financial aid in those programs, in addition to other day-to-day activities. He also assists in certification, rules education, and acts as the athletic department's point of contact for its internal compliance software, ARMS.

Osburn came from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, La., where he served as the Athletics Registrar overseeing transfers and the certification of all athletic programs. He also assisted in admissions, academics and compliance. Osburn also held this position at Memphis before transitioning into the Senior Coordinator role in Athletics.

Osburn also held similar roles in compliance at Murray State University where he was the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and the Assistant Director of Compliance at Alabama A&M University. Osburn also attended college in Huntsville, Ala., at the University of Alabama-Huntsville, where he was a member of the track and field team. During his time at UAH, Osburn broke three school records in indoor and outdoor shot put and the weight throw. He also served as a compliance specialist at UAH prior to graduating in 2012.Â

A native of Port St. John, Fla., Osburn is married to his high school sweetheart, Lesley, and they have three children: Fallon, Harper and Knox. He likes to spend his personal time volunteering with youth athletics, doing campfires with his kids, spending time at his family’s camp in Georgia and just being a dad.Â
