GREENVILLE, S.C. – The University of Memphis (4-1-1) men's soccer team played to its first draw of the season at Furman (2-1-4) Saturday night at Stone Stadium.

After entering the break up by one, the Tigers answered a second-half Furman goal to take a 2-1 lead before a late collision in the box granted Furman a penalty with mere seconds left, leading to the match being a 2-2 draw.

KEY MOMENTS

5' – Memphis started early after a Dino Stavros cross found the head of Henrique Cruz, who pushed it to the bottom left corner of the net.
44' – Goalkeeper Mathias Christensen was tested early, saving seven shots in the first half, including a pair within the span of 30 seconds.
64' – Furman's aggressive style broke the back line as the Paladins' two preseason honorees connected on a goal, going from Diego Hernandez to Braden Dunham.
70' – Miller Lashlee broke Dino Stavros open to the wide side, with Stavros finishing with a strike to the bottom right corner.
90' – A free kick into the box put Christensen in a dangerous spot as VAR determined that a penalty would be awarded to the Paladins.
