Kristin Williams began her Memphis career in July 2008 as an assistant athletic academic counselor before being hired full-time in the Center for Athletic Academic Services (CAAS) to work with women’s basketball and men’s and women’s track & field and cross country in July 2009. Williams has also worked with a variety of other teams including men’s basketball for 10 years, women’s golf and softball. She took over as the Associate Director of CAAS in September 2013 before being most recently promoted in September 2021 as the Assistant Athletic Director of CAAS while working with baseball and men’s and women’s tennis.
Williams completes all domestic freshman initial eligibility evaluations for all prospective student-athletes aside from football and serves as a liaison for the NCAA Eligibility Center. She recruits and trains all assistant athletic academic counselors and graduate assistants and has served as an adjunct instructor for ACAD 1100 (Academic Strategies) specifically for freshman student-athletes since Fall 2011. She serves on the NCAA Eligibility Center Division I Membership Advisory Group since Fall 2022 and has been recognized as an NCAA Division I Top Assistant Athletic Director by Silver Waves Media in 2021. Williams was also a recipient of the University of Memphis Excellence in Academic Advising Award in 2023. As a member of the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A) since 2008, Williams also serves as the N4A Honors & Awards working group co-chair.
Prior to the University of Memphis, Williams worked in athletic academic services at Wichita State University during graduate school. She earned her Master of Education in Sport Administration in May 2008. Williams is an Osborne, KS, native and attended Kansas Wesleyan University where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and played volleyball for the Lady Coyotes.
Williams and her husband, Duke, reside in Germantown and have two children.
