Madeleine Simon joined the Memphis women’s basketball staff as a graduate assistant prior to the 2019-20 season. She comes to Memphis after spending four years as a student-athlete with the Nebraska women’s basketball program.
Simon earned numerous awards during her time as a Husker, including the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award during her senior season. She was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection as well as a two-time Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Award winner.
“We’re excited to have Maddie join our staff as a graduate assistant,” added McFerrin. “As a four-year player at Nebraska, Maddie understands the devotion needed for a successful program. We look forward to seeing what she will bring to the table to help our student-athletes succeed on the court and in the classroom.”
She finished her Nebraska career with 709 points, 336 rebounds and 133 assists in 108 games with 48 starts. Simon was also selected to participate in the WBCA So You Want To Be A Coach Program as part of the 2019 WBCA Convention at the NCAA Women’s Final Four last season.
Simon is pursuing her master’s degree in sports commerce.
