Career
Kim Duppins-Stanton came to the University of Memphis in 1978 under former head coach Mary Lou Johns and became a starter as a freshman ... A graduate of Francis Scott Key High School in Union Bridge, Maryland, Duppins averaged 9.9 points per game in her first season of competition ... She upped her scoring average to 12.8 points per game in 1979-80 and improved her average to 17.0 points per outing as a junior ... Duppins scored 553 points during her senior season and finished her career with 1,835 points and 1,163 rebounds. She ranked as the eighth all-time leading scorer in Lady Tiger basketball history and third in rebounding on her induction to the Hall of Fame ... She is one of just three players in school history to ever score over 1,000 points and have more than 1,000 rebounds. Duppins, who scored a career high 33 points against Vanderbilt University in 1982, had her jersey retired in 1982 ... Following graduation, she returned to Francis Scott Key High as the girl's basketball coach and became an assistant coach at Northern Illinois University from 1987-90 ... She is married to Allen Stanton and resides in New Windsor, Maryland, where she teaches fifth grade at Freedom Elementary School. The couple has one son, Grant.
