CAREER
Nashville big man David Vaughn played four seasons for the Tigers, but had a promising sophomore season cut short (1 game) because of injury. He scored 1,305 career points and averaged 16.6 points as a junior.
Vaughn came to Memphis from Whites Creek High in Nashville after finishing his prep career as a member of the USA Today All-USA first team.
With the Tigers, Vaughn earned Great Midwest Conference first-team honors in 1994 and second-team honors in 1992 and 1995. He also made the All-Newcomer Team in 1992 and the GMC All-Tournament teams in 1992 and 1994.
Vaughn remains ranked in several career categories. He is listed third in career blocked shots (235) and first in season blocked shots (107). His 107 blocks is a sophomore record for a Tiger player. He ranks seventh in career rebounds with 903.
Vaughn was selected in the 1995 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic, where he joined former Tigers' teammate Penny Hardaway. Vaughn was a first-round pick (25thĀ overall).
Vaught spent time in the NBA with four teams (Magic, Bulls, Warriors and Nets) from 1996 to 1999. He scored 341 points in 118 NBA games
