Karen Del Carpio joined the staff as Assistant to the Men's Basketball Program for the 2019-20 season.
She has an extensive background in college basketball. She was named Director of Basketball Operations at Eastern Michigan on October 2018. Her primary responsibilities as EMU Director of Operations included coordinating team travel, budget, marketing, community service, camps, equipment, supervising the managerial staff, and various other administrative duties.
Karen Del Carpio was named to the UCF Men's Basketball program staff in the role of Assistant Director of Basketball Operations in April of 2016. Del Carpio was a part of the 2016-17 staff that led the Knights to a run to the semifinals of the NIT and the second-most wins in program history (24). The previous two seasons followed the same role for the Knights' Women's Basketball Program 2014-16.
Del Carpio got her start in basketball operations as a student at Bethany College (Kansas). In addition to suiting up for the women's team from 2012-14, the Miami, Fla., native assisted Bethany's men's basketball team as a manager in her spare time. She performed a variety of tasks and roles with the Swedes, including assisting with the team's daily operations, academic monitoring, success of student-athletes in the classroom, and editing athletic publications.
Before attending Bethany College, Del Carpio played basketball for Southeast Community College (Nebraska) where she led her team to conference and regional championships, as well as its first appearance at the national championships.
A native of Miami Fla., Del Carpio earned her degree in Business Administration from Bethany College (Kansas) where she served as a captain and an all-conference honorable mention for the Women's Basketball team.
