• Member of the Tigers staff when the program transitioned to the American Athletic Conference in 2013-14 from Conference USA in 2012-13
• Won 20 or more games two of his three seasons, including 31 victories in 2012-13
• Earned NCAA Tournament berths two of his three seasons (2013, 2014), advancing to the third round both times
• In the program’s first season in the American Athletic Conference, Tigers posted a 24-10 overall record and a 12-6 league mark
• The 2013-14 Tigers earned an NCAA Tournament bid and advanced to the third round for a second-straight season
• The 20-win season in 2013-14 was the program’s 14th-straight, the sixth-longest streak of its kind in NCAA Division I at the time
• In 2014-15, Memphis went 18-14 overall and 10-8 in the American Athletic Conference
• The double-digit league wins in 2014-15 (10-8 record) marked the 10th-consecutive season the Tigers won 10 or more games in conference play
• In 2012-13, Tigers went 31-5 overall and 16-0 in Conference USA
• Helped the Tigers to a sweep of the Conference USA regular-season and tournament titles in 2012-13
• The 30-win season was only the sixth in school history, and the 31 wins are tied for the fifth-most in the program’s history
• The unblemished 16-0 league record was the Tigers’ fourth in seven seasons
• Memphis’ sweep of the C-USA regular-season and tournament titles in 2012-13 was the program’s sixth in eight seasons
• The Tigers earned an NCAA Tournament berth and advanced to the “Big Dance’s” third round
Prior to Memphis
• From 2009-12, was a counselor in the West Allis/West Milwaukee school district, while also serving as an assistant coach for the Waukesha South High School varsity hoops squad (2009-11) along with coaching youth basketball (2009-12).
• In the fall of 2008, served an internship with the Indiana University basketball program
• At Marquette from 2005-08, was a graduate assistant on head coach Tom Crean's staff
• In those three seasons, the Golden Eagles posted a 69-31 overall record and a 31-19 BIG EAST Conference mark and earned three NCAA Tournament berths
• Marquette won 20 or more games and recorded double-digit BIG EAST victories in each of his three seasons in Milwaukee
• The 2007-08 campaign was the most-successful one in Swartz's tenure with the Golden Eagles
• Marquette went 25-10 overall, including 11-7 in league play, and finished fifth in the BIG EAST Conference regular season
• The Golden Eagles advanced to the BIG EAST Conference Tournament semifinal round and earned an NCAA Tournament berth
• The 2005-06 Golden Eagles squad finished fourth in the BIG EAST regular season (10-6 record), the program's best league showing until the 2011-12 season when Marquette placed second
• Among his duties at Marquette: assisted in areas of video, scouting reports, statistics, student-athletes' academic progress, on-campus recruiting visits, and coordinating summer camps.
• Also assisted in player development, working with All-BIG EAST honorees Lazar Hayward, Dominic James, Wesley Matthews, Jerel McNeal and Steve Novak
• Novak, Matthews, McNeal, and Hayward have all played in the NBA.
Personal
• Waukesha, Wis., native
• Graduated from Carroll College in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in psychology
• Earned his master's degree in school counseling from Marquette in 2008
• Began his collegiate playing career at the University of Wisconsin in 1999-2000
• Member of the Badgers squad that advanced to the 2000 NCAA Final Four
• Named the 1999 Associated Press Wisconsin High School Player of the Year
• State of Wisconsin Division I high school's (big schools) all-time scoring leader (2123 points)
