In May of 2022, Tanner Harrison moved back to the Memphis Football program in an assistant sport science/strength & conditioning position and will be entering his fourth season with the Tigers.

Returning to the University of Memphis in October of 2021, Harrison worked with Olympic sports such as: softball, baseball, track & field throwers, sprinters, and rifle until May of 2022.

Tanner spent most of 2021 with the University of Georgia National Championship Football team as an intern on the strength staff working directly under master strength coach Scott Sinclair, and Kirby Smart from January - October of 2021.

Prior to his time at Georgia, Tanner was a part of the strength and conditioning department for Memphis Football from May 2019 - December 2020. During his tenure at Memphis, he coached under master strength coach Josh Storms and for the latter half Noah Franklin. He worked with the (12-2) Tiger Football Team that won the AAC Championship that led them to a Cotton Bowl appearance in 2019. He also was a part of the 2020 (8-3) season that ended with a win over FAU in the Montgomery Bowl.

He got his college coaching career started with his first stop in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) as a strength & conditioning intern for the Ole Miss football team under Paul Jackson in January of 2019

Harrison also had a brief segment in private sector training at Parisi-Speed School from May 2018 - January 2019.

The Desoto County, Mississippi, native began his coaching career in strength & conditioning at his alma mater Lewisburg High School, where he helped design and implement all the strength training programming for the football team from (2015-2018).

Harrison is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association, (NSCA), a level 1 certified sports performance coach through USA Weightlifting (USAW), and is CPR/AED certified through the American Heart Association. He earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science at Ole Miss in (2016). He received his master’s degree in sports commerce administration from the University of Memphis in (2021).
