Larry Reynolds joined the University of Memphis athletic training staff in 2013 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Tiger Football program.
In his second year, Reynolds was part of a program which captured an American Athletic Conference championship, the school's first conference football title since 1971. Memphis capped the 2014 season with a 55-48, double-overtime victory over BYU at the inaugural Miami Beach Bowl.
Reynolds previous nine years of professional experience as a certified Athletic Trainer included football experience with both NCAA FBS and FCS programs as well as the NAIA along with professional experience for both Arena Football League and National Football League teams.
Reynolds joined the Memphis staff after a three-year stint as the Athletic Trainer for Southwestern Athletic Conference championship football and track and field teams at Alabama State University.
Prior to working at Alabama State, Reynolds was the Associate Head Athletic Trainer at Union College in Barbourville, Ky. At Union College he was responsible for both the football program as well as the school’s national and conference champion track and field program.
Reynolds is a 2005 graduate of Indiana State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training. While a student at Indiana State, he was selected for two PFATS Minority Scholarships, working with the Minnesota Vikings (2003) and the New England Patriots (2005). He also held a summer internship with the then, AFL2 Bossier City Battle Wings in his hometown of Bossier City, La.
After graduating from Indiana State, Reynolds attended Arkansas State University where he received his Masters of Exercise Science degree. Reynolds’ thesis was entitled Perceptions of Athletic Training Services at NCAA Division II and NAIA Institutions and was published through ProQuest, UMI Dissertation Publishing (Sept. 30, 2011).
Reynolds’ post-graduate work began with a seasonal athletic training fellowship with the Cincinnati Bengals.
