Akoya Nelson is in her fifth year as the Assistant to the Director of Recruiting. In her role, Nelson works with Director of Recruiting, coordinating the Tigers’ recruiting efforts.

She also provides administrative support to the Memphis coaching staff.

As an undergraduate student at the University of Memphis, Nelson worked two years as a student assistant in the football office prior to being hired full time. She also volunteered with the marketing department during her time as a student.

Nelson received her bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from Memphis in 2011. She is a native of Pulaski, Tenn.
