Prior to Memphis/Personal
- Has a wingspan of 7-1
- Ranked as a 4-star recruit by both ESPN and Rivals and the 47th-best player nationally by ESPN
- Is the first player in TSSAA history to win state championships at three different high schools
- Scored 16 points, grabbed five rebounds and handed out six assists in Houston High School's Class AAA state championship in 2021
- Also cut down the nets with East High School in 2018 and Wooddale High School in 2019
- The 2018 East state championship team was coached by Penny Hardaway
- Brother, Chandler, was a junior on 2018 team
- Wooddale also qualified for the state tournament in 2020 before it was canceled due to COVID-19
- Averaged 17.3 points per game as a senior at Houston, which came after contributing 26.1 points, 12.3 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game as a junior at Wooddale
- Was the 2020 Tennessee Gatorade Player of the Year and Class AA Mr. Basketball
- Along with Chandler, are the third and fourth Lawson brothers to play at the University of Memphis, joining Dedric and K.J. (2015-17)
