Enrolled out of High School at Baylor University; however, due to a series of injuries, was unable to play for the Bears ... He was the nation’s 145th ranked recruit by Rivals.com, and was a four-year letterwinner at Fort Worth Christian High School ... He averaged 24.2 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 4.1 blocked shots per game in 2011-12, helping his team to a 21-16 record and a regional playoff berth ... He broke his school’s scoring record on November 26, 2011 with 40 points, and then broke his own record a day later with 42 points ... He earned second-team Class 4A All-State honors as both a junior and senior, scoring 1,231 points over his final two seasons. He was ranked as the 21st best center by ESPN and 25th by Rivals.com.
