Hardaway's Career Night Not Enough for Tigers at Tulsa
Jan 21, 2026 | Men's Basketball
TULSA, Okla. - Memphis put itself in position to earn a quality road win Wednesday night at Tulsa and controlled the momentum late into the second half.
The Tigers held a 62-57 advantage with just over eight minutes remaining and had all the momentum after a tough three from Ashton Hardaway. From there, the night flipped in a hurry. Tulsa slammed the door with a blistering closing stretch, turning a tight contest into an 83-66 loss for Memphis at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
The Golden Hurricane finished the game on a decisive 26-4 run, capitalizing on Memphis miscues and cold shooting. The Tigers struggled to find rhythm down the stretch, managing only two field goals over their final 19 possessions while turnovers and missed shots piled up. Tulsa, meanwhile, found its groove late and lived at the free-throw line, converting 31 points at the stripe.
Hardaway was one of the bright spots for Memphis, pouring in a career-high 18 points on an efficient 6-of-9 shooting night, including a scorching 5-of-6 from beyond the arc.
Three Tigers finished in double figures, with Dug McDaniel (13 points) and Aaron Bradshaw (12 points) finishing behind Hardaway.
Tulsa was led by Miles Barnstable (17 points) and Tylen Riley (16), improving to 16-3 overall and 4-2 in league play. Memphis drops to 9-9 and 4-2 in the American.
