Givens III Earns American Conference Honorable Mention

IRVING, Texas - Curtis Givens III has been named an American Conference Honorable Mention, the league office announced Monday.

The recognition marks the sixth weekly honor for the Tigers (9-8, 4-1 American) this season and the first for Givens III.

Givens III played a pivotal role in leading Memphis to a 2-0 week at FedExForum, helping the Tigers secure conference victories over Temple, 55-53, and UTSA, 95-69. He provided production on both ends of the floor while starting both contests and logging heavy minutes in the backcourt.

Across the two wins, Givens III averaged 13.0 points per game while shooting an efficient 52.4 percent from the field and 44.4 percent from three-point range. He totaled 26 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals for the week, averaging 31.3 minutes per game.

Against Temple on Wednesday, Givens III posted 12 points on 5-of-12 shooting, including 2-of-5 from beyond the arc. He added four rebounds and two steals in 33 minutes as Memphis earned a 55-53 win over a Temple team that entered the night unbeaten in conference play and riding a seven-game winning streak.

He followed with one of his most efficient performances of the season Sunday against UTSA, scoring 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting, including 2-of-4 from three-point range, in 30 minutes. Givens III added four rebounds and three assists in a 95-69 victory that marked Memphis' most complete offensive performance of the year.
