KEY MOMENTS
- 23' – Memphis mounted an early attack as for the second time this season, Saad Chaouki found the back of the net with assists being credited to Eben McIntyre and Luciano Galizzi.
- The first instance of a goal by Chaouki with assists by McIntyre and Galizzi was in Memphis' 2-0 win against Mercer.
- 45' – After a mostly mundane 20 minutes, a failed clearance attempt left the ball at the feet of FGCU's Caio Oliveira, who knotted the match up at one goal apiece with 47 seconds remaining in the half.
- 54' – The Eagles came out with a heavy offensive to start the second half, registering back-to-back shots at the 50-minute mark before Brooks Beeman of FGCU took a rolling pass into the back and found the bottom left corner of the net to give FGCU a 2-1 lead.
- 60' – Only six minutes later, Arber Shala of FGCU would find Ignatius DeMark on the back post to extend the Eagles' lead to two, which would hold for the rest of the match.
- The Memphis attack narrowly outpaced FGCU in total shots, 14-to-13, but the Eagles recorded seven shots on goal compared to Memphis' three.
- With his second goal of the season, Saad Chaouki moves into a three-way tie with Luciano Galizzi and Eben McIntyre for points with four.
- Galizzi and McIntyre each sit with a goal and two assists, with each also recording an assist on a goal by Chaouki for the second time this season.
- Memphis conceded a season-high three goals in the loss. The Tigers are currently 1-0-2 when conceding one goal or less and 0-2-0 when allowing two or more goals.
- The three goals were the most allowed by goalkeeper Filip Sabatti since the 2024 AAC Semifinal against FIU and the most in a regular season contest since an Oct. 15, 2024 match against Missouri State when Sabatti also conceded three times.
- Memphis' freshman starting streak continues with Ignacio Escamilla making his third start of the season.
- Escamilla has started each of the last three matches, while Miller Lashlee, Carson Banham and Anthony Grudko logged starts in the third, second and first matches of the season, respectively.
- Each freshman has logged at least 150 minutes this season, with Grudko, Escamilla and Banham all eclipsing 200 minutes played.
- Three Tigers (Filip Sabatti, Dino Stavros, Ryan Ruguaru) played a full 90 minutes in the loss.
- After missing the first four matches of the season with an injury, Samuel Mutiri made his first appearance for Memphis since transferring from Mobile.
- A total of four yellow cards were issued during the matchup.
- For Memphis, Ryan Ruguaru was assessed a yellow card.
- For FGCU, Brian Lopez, Salvador Martinez and Pedro Arcoverde were all shown yellow cards.
