Four Tigers Garner American Conference Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas – Four members of the Memphis volleyball team were named to the American Conference's weekly honors list, the league announced on Monday afternoon.
Amanda Hardt took home Offensive Player of the Week, Maddy Bach received Setter of the Week, Zaniah Hoskins was named Freshman of the Week and Janyah Henderson received honorable mention recognition.
Hardt, a transfer from Omaha, led the Tigers in kills and aces with 48 and eight, respectively, in three matches during the Rumble at the Roane Invitational. The Glendale, Ariz. native averaged 4.36 kills per set and posted 32.5 points against USC Upstate, the second-highest single-match total in Division I from opening night. Hardt becomes just the fourth Tiger to earn Offensive Player of the Week in the American, as Sabrina Bianco was the last to earn the honor in 2021.
Bach tallied 96 assists across the opening weekend, highlighted by 34 against USC Upstate. The Chesterfield, Mo. native registered at least 30 assists in all three matches. The freshman also tallied four kills and two service aces in her first collegiate action.
Hoskins put up 29 kills, 32 digs and 34 points in her debut weekend at the Rumble at the Roane Invitational. The Austin, Texas native recorded 15 kills, 18 points and 12 digs in Memphis' win against USC Upstate.
Henderson put up 26 kills and 12 total blocks at the Rumble at the Roane. Her three solo blocks in the season-opening match were the most by a Tiger since 2010 and she finished the match with nine total blocks.

Memphis will head out west to participate in the Denver Classic from Sept. 4-6. The Tigers will play the host Denver Pioneers before playing in neutral-site matches against Idaho State and Texas Southern. Memphis' match against Denver is set for a 7:00 p.m. CT start and will be broadcast on Midco Sports.
