Lashlee Named American Freshman of the Week, Chaouki Earns Honorable Mention

IRVING, Texas – Memphis men's soccer forward Miller Lashlee garnered recognition as the American Conference Freshman of the Week, while midfielder Saad Chaouki was named a weekly honorable mention, per a league release Monday.
In Saturday's 4-2 victory over Temple, both Lashlee and Chaouki recorded braces. Lashlee scored in the 20th and 22nd minutes to put Memphis ahead 2-0, and Chaouki scored in the 82nd and 84th minutes to seal the match for the Tigers.
Lashlee, a native of Byhalia, Mississippi, has scored in four of Memphis' six conference games and now leads all American Conference players with five goals in league play. His five goals are also tied for the team lead and tied for fifth-most in the American across all competitions. Lashlee also leads the American with 10 points in conference play.
Chaouki has spent most of the season as Memphis' leading goal scorer and now sits in a tie for the team lead as he and Lashlee each have five goals. Chaouki has 10 points on the season, a mark that is also tied with Lashlee for the team lead. His six points in conference play are tied for second in the American, and he is the only player in the conference with two game-winning goals during league matches.

Memphis travels to Springfield, Missouri for its final road match of the regular season at Missouri State on Saturday, Oct. 25. The match is set for a 7 p.m. start and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
