Herring Named to AAC Weekly Honor Roll

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis junior linebacker Elijah Herring was named the American Athletic Conference's (AAC) Weekly Honor Roll, the conference announced Monday.
In a 24-7 win over Middle Tennessee, Herring paced the Tiger defense with a career-high 10 total tackles (3 solo) with 2.5 going for a loss, including a quarterback sack and a half.
Defensively, the Tigers forced four sacks, two fumbles and totaled 6.5 tackles for loss. Memphis limited the Blue Raiders to just 29 yards on the ground on 25 attempts.
In just three games played this season, Herring leads the team with 3.5 sacks, is second on the squad with 5.5 tackles for loss and ranks fourth with 22 total tackles (13 solo).
The Tigers have a week off from game action before going on the road to Tampa, Florida, for their first conference road game of the season against South Florida (2-3) on Friday, October 11 with kick scheduled for 6 p.m. CT on ESPN.
