Ten Tigers Land ITA Academic Recognition, Team Honored with All-Academic Award

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men's tennis team earned a handful of academic honors, including All-Academic Team and 10 individual Scholar-Athlete awards, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced on Monday.
As a team, the Tigers were recognized as an All-Academic Team with a 3.77 team GPA for the 2023-24 academic year, which was the highest GPA total for any male team in the department.
To be named an ITA All-Academic team, a program must have a grade point average of 3.2 or above, while all student-athletes on the roster and all varsity letterwinners factor into the team cumulative GPA for the most recent academic year.
In 2024, 1,059 Division I Men's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 176 men's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
In addition to the team recognition, all 10 Tigers were named ITA Scholar Athletes, including, Pablo Alemany, Pau Fanlo, Conor Gannon, Sam Reeve, Juan Zabala, Moritz Kudernatsch, Maxime Dubouch, Mika Berghaus, Charlie Barry and Harry Rock.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, individuals must have at least a 3.5 GPA.
In total, nine players recorded a GPA of 3.6 or higher with Alemany, Dubouch and Reeve earning a perfect 4.0.
