MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis head women's basketball coach Alex Simmons has announced two games against power conference opponents for the upcoming season in Tennessee (Dec. 18) and Louisville (Dec. 21), both to be played at FedExForum.
Season tickets are available now at THIS LINK or by calling the ticket office at (901) 678-2331.
"That week in December will be very special. Not only will we have an opportunity to play in FedExForum, but we will also be competing against two extremely high-caliber teams in Tennessee and Louisville," Simmons said. "Our game against Tennessee has awakened an in-state rivalry that I think our fans have been longing for and deserve. It's a huge day for our program and women's basketball as a whole, but more importantly for the city of Memphis. This December, our 'Party in the Fieldhouse' is temporally relocated to FedExForum!"
The Tigers are no stranger to big name opponents; just last season, Memphis took on the Lady Vols and stunned the basketball world when they took the then 15th-ranked team to overtime in Knoxville. They would go on to face off with (RV) Arizona and (RV) Mississippi State later in the season.
The games will be the first regular season matchups played in FedExForum for the women's basketball team since the 2014-15 season.
