Tigers Lock in No. 8-Seed at American Athletic Conference Championship

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – After winning five of its final six games of the regular season, the University of Memphis women's basketball team has secured the No. 8-seed for the American Athletic Conference Championship.
The Tigers (13-16) will play on Sunday against ninth-seeded East Carolina (16-13) on Sunday, March 10 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. Tip-off is scheduled for 12 p.m. CT with coverage available on ESPN+.
Memphis and East Carolina split its two meetings during the regular season. The most recent meeting came less than three weeks ago (Feb. 17) when the Tigers walked away with the 72-70 win in Greenville when Alasia Smith laid in the game-winning bucket before blocking back-to-back shots to give Memphis the victory.
Sunday's game will be the third-consecutive year that the Tigers and Pirates have met during the American Athletic Conference Championship.
