Tigers Host Tulane in 901Women Game

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis women's basketball team is back in the Bluff City this Saturday when they take on the Green Wave of Tulane University. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. inside Elma Roane Fieldhouse with coverage available on ESPN+.
Saturday's game is the team's 901Women game as well as the rescheduled We Back Pat celebration.
Memphis (7-14, 3-7 AAC) is coming off an 81-73 loss at SMU a week ago where the Tigers got a 25-point performance from Madison Griggs and double-digit scores from Ki'Ari Cain and Kai Carter.
For the season, Griggs leads the team with just under 17 points per game while Alasia Smith has brought down a team-best 190 rebounds. Smith also finds herself ranked in the top-20 in Division I in offensive rebounds per game (19th) while ranking second in the AAC in rebounds per game (9.0) and steals (49).
As a team, Memphis ranks 3rd in the country in offensive rebounds per contest with 17.2.
Tulane (10-11, 3-8 AAC) is coming off a 94-77 loss to UAB where the Blazers drained 20 three-pointers in the game. Kyren Whittington led the team with 16 points off the bench with Hannah Pratt, Amira Mabry, Marta Galic and Irina Parau all reaching double-figure scoring.
Joy Madison-Key ran the offense for the Green Wave with 10 of the team's 15 assists in the game.
For the season, Whittington leads the team with 15.6 points per game with Galic, Pratt and Mabry all chipping in double-digit numbers.
Last season when the two teams met, Memphis came away with the 55-44 win in the team's final regular season game. The victory marked the seventh consecutive win for the Tigers and locked them into the 2-seed for the American Athletic Conference Championship.
