Volleyball Head Coach Sean Burdette’s Contract Not Renewed

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – After seven years as the University of Memphis head volleyball coach, Sean Burdette will not return to the Tigers. Senior Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Ed Scott, Ph.D. announced Wednesday that Burdette's contract will not be renewed.
"I want to thank Coach Burdette for his service to the Memphis volleyball program and the University over the last seven years," Scott said. "We wish Coach Burdette and his family all the best in their next chapter."
Burdette's teams compiled a record of 87-107 (.448) during his seven seasons at Memphis, including a 39-78 (.333) mark in American Athletic Conference play. Burdette guided the volleyball program to a 53-46 (.535) record at the Larry O. Finch Center while leading the Tigers.
A national search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
