Hunter Named AAC Player of the Week

IRVING, Texas – University of Memphis men's basketball senior guard Tyrese Hunter has been named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week for his performance in Saturday's win at No. 16 Clemson, the league office announced Monday.
It is the second conference player of the week for Hunter, and the third this season for the Tigers (PJ Haggerty - Nov. 11).
Hunter dropped 23 points, four rebounds, three assists, one block and a steal in leading Memphis to an 87-82 overtime win on the road over the 16th-ranked Tigers.
The Racine, Wisconsin native matched his career high with seven 3-pointers (7-of-11) and now ranks ninth in the country with a 51.6-percent clip from beyond the arc.
Hunter has scored 20-plus points in five games this season and has drained at least four triples in four of his last six outings.
