MEMPHIS, Tenn. – After improving to 9-2 with a 53-18 Senior Day victory over UAB at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium on Saturday, the University of Memphis football team moved back into the US LBM Coaches Poll Top 25 and received 38 votes in the AP Poll.
The Tigers received 77 points in the US LBM Coaches Poll to check back in at No. 24 after previously climbing to No. 23 in the Sept. 15 rankings and No. 25 in the Oct. 27 poll.
Memphis is one of three American Athletic Conference teams ranked in the Coaches Poll, joining No. 17 Army (9-0) and No. 20 Tulane (9-2).
In the AP Poll, the Tigers were left just outside of the Top 25 with their 38 votes received being good for No. 27. Army checked in at No. 18 while the Green Wave came in at No. 20.
The Tigers have nine wins for the 11th time in program history with the potential to earn a 10th win still on the table. A 10-win season would mark the first time in program history with back-to-back double-digit win seasons.
Memphis has scored 20 or more points in 38-consecutive games – the longest active streak in the nation – dating back to a 33-28 win over Tulane on Nov. 27, 2021.
The Tigers will have a bye week to recoup before heading to New Orleans for a Thanksgiving night matchup at No. 20 Tulane (9-2, 7-0 AAC) to cap the regular season.
