Tigers Embark Tuesday on Foreign Trip to Dominican Republic

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men's basketball program will head out tomorrow on its foreign tour to the Dominican Republic.

Memphis will fly into Punta Cana and then bus to La Romana Tuesday evening to begin its three-game, seven-day trip in the DR.

There will be no live streaming, radio broadcasts or live stats from the Tigers' three contests. Fans can follow the team's official Twitter account @Memphis_MBB for in-game action, score updates, photos and other content from the trip.

The Foreign Tour

The Tigers will play a total of three games during their time in the Dominican, competing once in Santo Domingo and twice in La Romana
Memphis will face the Dominican Republic National Team Aug. 2 at 6:30 p.m. CT
Former Tiger Lester Quinones will compete with the National Team
The Tigers then will match up with a Dominican Select Team Aug. 4 at 5 p.m. CT and again Aug. 6 at 4 p.m. CT

Trip Details

The tour begins with a 6:40 a.m. flight Tuesday, Aug. 1, arriving in Punta Cana around 3:30 p.m. local time (2:30 p.m. CT)
The team will bus an hour to La Romana where they will check in and spend the next six nights at Casa de Campo Resort
The team will have a welcome dinner and participate in some night golf the first evening
The team will spend the entire duration of the trip in La Romana except for traveling to the capital city of Santo Domingo for the first game on Aug. 2
Memphis will depart Punta Cana for the United States just after 4 p.m. local time on Aug. 7
