Henry, Zych Named to USA Shooting National Teams

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis Rifle's Angeline Henry and Gabriela Zych were recently named to USA Shooting National Teams. Henry was named to the National Development Team, while Zych was named to the National Futures Team.
Henry is now eligible for automatic invitations to ISSF Grands Prix and is also eligible to fill development slots at ISSF World Cups, Grands Prix, and other ISSF and non-ISSF international competitions. Zych is eligible to fill development slots at ISSF World Cups, Grands Prix, and other ISSF and non-ISSF international competitions.
"I am thrilled for Angeline and Gabriela to have the opportunity to be a part of Team USA," Memphis head coach Morgan Phillips said. "I know this is going to give them some amazing opportunities and enrich their student-athlete experience. Being able to compete at an even higher level will only help their growth as athletes and I am so excited to see what they do with this opportunity."
Henry made the Development Team based on ranking points in air rifle being within the Development Team range. The ranking points are the average 30th place score of the ISSF World Cups within the previous two-year period. Henry's two scores at Nationals brought their top-five score average within the range.
Zych earned her spot on the Futures Team based on her third-place junior air rifle finish at the USA Shooting National Championships earlier this month.
This past season for the Tigers, both Henry and Zych earned CRCA All-America honors. Henry was named Second-Team All-America in air rifle, while Zych earned honorable-mention All-America accolades in air rifle.
Both Henry and Zych earned berths to the 2023 NCAA Championships in air rifle for the Tigers, with Henry finishing fourth overall and Zych placing 11th. Henry was also named Second-Team All-GARC in air rifle and honorable mention All-GARC in both smallbore and combined for Memphis, while Zych was named honorable-mention All-GARC in air rifle.
